Ondo Finance’s yield-bearing stablecoin USDY has gone live on BNB Chain, extending daily-yield Treasuries beyond Ethereum and Layer 2s. The deployment integrates with major wallets and DeFi platforms including 1inch, Ledger, LI.FI, CoW Protocol, Trust Wallet, and LayerZero. The move brings tokenized real-world assets to hundreds of millions of BNB Chain wallets and its growing AI agent ecosystem. Permissionless minting and redemption with daily yield accrual offer new primitives for payments and automated treasury management. The success of the rollout hinges on achieving deep liquidity, navigating regulatory clarity for yield-bearing tokens, and driving user adoption across the new chain.
Ondo Finance’s yield-bearing stablecoin USDY has launched on BNB Chain, bringing tokenized Treasury yields to a network of hundreds of millions of wallets. The deployment extends USDY’s daily yield accrual beyond Ethereum and Layer 2s into BNB Chain’s expanding AI agent ecosystem.
Key integrations include 1inch, Ledger, LI.FI, CoW Protocol, Trust Wallet, and LayerZero, enabling swapping, secure custody, cross-chain bridging, and wallet support. According to Ondo Finance, USDY is now natively issued on BNB Chain, with the rollout using LayerZero’s cross-chain messenger to move liquidity.
The infrastructure is provided by BNB Chain while USDY is issued by a regulated unit of Ondo Finance. This arrangement allows tokenized Treasury assets to become readily accessible to both retail and institutional investors outside Ethereum.
Developers gain permissionless minting and redeeming with daily yield accrual, described as new primitives for payments and AI agent operations on BNB Chain. For exchanges and wallet providers, the compliant product offering can be presented to customers without requiring in-house custody infrastructure.
Tokenized Treasuries have been expanding as institutions seek on-chain cash substitutes. However, USDY faces several obstacles including clear regulatory definition of yield-bearing tokens, establishing deep liquidity on the new chain, and user education.
Future steps will involve tracking user base metrics for USDY on BNB Chain, further exchange listings, and monitoring the regulatory position on daily-yield accrual across different jurisdictions. The sustainability of the system will depend on maintaining sufficient liquidity and remaining compliant with applicable laws.
