Whale Accumulation Surges Across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Amid Macro Risks

-

Whale accumulation across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP is occurring at elevated levels, with on-chain data showing large investors absorbing supply during macro uncertainty. Bitcoin whale holdings reached 3.06 million BTC in 2026, while Ethereum wallets holding 10,000–100,000 ETH hit a record 19.6 million ETH and mega-whales added 1.8 million ETH. Bitcoin trades near $65,000 and Ethereum reclaimed $1,900, suggesting demand is absorbing sell pressure. However, macro factors including renewed rate-hike comments and falling CLARITY Act odds may test whale conviction, with Bitcoin still 303 days since its all-time high and historically bottoming later in the cycle.

Whale accumulation in the cryptocurrency market is reaching some of the strongest levels of the current cycle. On-chain data shows that large holders are continuing to buy despite heightened volatility across broader risk assets.

Bitcoin whale holdings have climbed to 3.06 million BTC in 2026. XRP spot order sizes remain firmly in “big whale” territory, while Ethereum whales are also accumulating.

Wallets holding 10,000–100,000 ETH have reached a record 19.6 million ETH. Wallets with more than 100,000 ETH have accumulated 1.8 million ETH, representing an increase of around 70%.

This accumulation is not limited to Bitcoin. Whales are accumulating across major crypto assets, showing continued confidence despite macro uncertainty.

Bitcoin is currently hovering around $65,000, while Ethereum has reclaimed $1,900. Whale demand has been strong enough to absorb sell-side pressure.

However, macro conditions are becoming less supportive. Recent comments from U.S. Federal Reserve officials have revived rate hike concerns. Polymarket odds of the CLARITY Act becoming law in 2026 have fallen to 16%.

The Binance Whale Inflow Ratio has climbed to 0.52, its highest level in four months. This suggests growing whale inflows to the exchange, which could signal increased selling pressure.

Historical cycles indicate that Bitcoin has bottomed around 360–400 days into a bear market. Currently, it has been 303 days since Bitcoin’s all-time high.

Nearly 50% of Bitcoin’s supply remains underwater. The real question is whether whale accumulation can continue if the macro backdrop turns more bearish.
