XRP Whale Accumulation: Should You Cut Losses at $1.06?

-

XRP has slipped to $1.06, down 4.5% over the past 24 hours, while the CLARITY Act remains stalled in Congress. According to Santiment data, small holders have been reducing positions for weeks, while wallets holding between 100,000 and 100 million XRP have added roughly 600 million XRP since mid-June. This whale accumulation trend has historically preceded a rebound. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse commented on the bill’s progress: “Perfect can’t be the enemy of good. Let’s get this done!” Investors face a decision on whether to sell, hold, or buy more XRP based on risk tolerance and the timing of regulatory clarity.

Santiment’s data shows a split market: small wallets keep exiting while the largest holders keep adding. Smaller wallets have cut their combined XRP holdings by 5.2% over five weeks.

The same wallets behind the whale accumulation trend have added roughly 600 million XRP since mid-June. This buying helped push the price from about $1 at the end of June to above $1.16 in late July, though it has since pulled back to $1.06.

Regulatory clarity plays into that calculation. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said: “Perfect can’t be the enemy of good. Let’s get this done!”

Anyone weighing whether to buy more XRP should check three things: a personal loss threshold, how much of the portfolio already sits in XRP, and whether the CLARITY Act and RLUSD adoption will land soon. An investor sells through an exchange, using a market order for an immediate exit or a stop-loss order set at a chosen price.

Retail wallets have been shedding XRP for over a month while whales keep buying the dip. Cutting XRP losses this week will likely look like a different call once the CLARITY Act and RLUSD adoption actually land.
